I have a question, how do you deal with bloodline curses of adopted children, do you pray over them the day you bring them into your home? Does God guide you into which child to adopt?

One of the BEST things we can do to better read the Bible is to read literature? That’s not right at all. I’m all for reading widely but the motivation is not to improve understanding of the Bible but understanding of our times.

I was called to foreign missions at an early age, 10 years old. I went to college to study foreign missions at a Bible college. I met my husband there and while we were still friends I told him about my calling, and he expressed his calling to ministry and his willingness to go anywhere. We dated knowing that if marriage was in the future, foreign missions were in the future. It was a deep desire, focus, intent, determination, longing, burning, hungry focus, coupled with loads of prayer and mentoring. We both went to seminary, he finished but I needed a full time job to pay for it, so I didn't finish. We head to mission field overseas with pure excitement. Loved what we were doing and honestly had the greatest spiritual growth and fellowship with other believers than any other time in our lives. Now, the problem was, we had to raise all of our support. We're supposed to live on 100% support. Basically to be on 100% meant that you had to have people, churches and organizations as pumped about your ministry as you were. We didn't. No one was. Friends and family were angry at us and embarrassed that we were constantly asking for support (it just came in the form of a newsletter which stated at the very end, "if you want to support us send money to..."). No begging. The best we got was crickets, the worst angry, hateful statements all from believers. Year 2, I had to get a job because we only got about 20% of what we were supposed to receive. Part of my job was at a refugee ministry that got an influx of Iraq refugees days before the US entered Iraq. The support came less, because people said that they couldn't give in good conscience to something so dangerous. The refugee camp was 5000 miles away from Iraq. I didn't fly them in, just helped them when they got there. Needless to say, after 5 years, we were fired as missionaries because of our lack of support. We tried to return 5 years later and got even less commitment than what we left with in the first place, so we were asked not to come 1 week before we were supposed to move. For 20 years, we have longed, cried, gone to counseling, prayed and prayed. We even self funded 2 mission trips we took with our kids (just 2 weeks a piece), because of no support raised. We have been involved and worked in ministry for decades (me 36 years in ministry, my husband 33). Both our jobs now are ministry (missions at home as described in video), but it is not our calling. We do it a) we want to be in ministry, and b) we have bills to pay. Every time I have sought counseling, it's always the same response. The Bible in Greek doesn't say "go and make disciples", it says "as you are going, make disciples". Nothing coincides with our hearts and souls. Please advise

Being a giver rather than a taker has numerous proven benefits-physical, mental, and emotional-that everyone should incorporate into their daily lives. The Bible states, "There is more happiness in giving than in receiving." (Acts 20:35)

I would expect someone from Lifeway to have this attitude. Small churches sometimes can’t afford VBS resources, from Lifeway and other sources. Also, many kids today, especially kids still young enough to go to VBS, are so entertainment-driven from video games, etc. that they’re bored by most of the VBS activities. We’re a small country church, right in the middle of our VBS week & struggling to engage the kids coming.

I am not amazed at all that so many people had to look up that Verse. Most people still believe the misunderstanding that the Mother of Jesus Mary was a Virgin Mother. At that time 2000 years ago in the east the first birth of all mothers was known as 'a Virgin Birth'. This has over the years been badly translated. Jesus had siblings, which is another fact lost to history as it did not fit the message the Christian Church wanted to give out. This is a great story regardless.

Middle aged childless single here. I have a lot of friends at church. It's only 100 members. I'm fine without a special ministry or group. "God won't send you a spouse because you love marriage more than Jesus and make it an idol." "God will only send you a spouse if you feel contented or become spiritually mature." Translation: If you grow old unwed that's because God is angry and very disappointed in you. Either He's withholding because you aren't as worthy as the marrieds or He's punishing you for sin in your life. Your whole life is a failure and God looks upon you with loathing and disgust because you are single. While He loves your friends who married in their early twenties and is pleased with everything they do--because they are married. Not encouraging or helpful.

If you read the First Commandment, you know how God warns against serving false gods or idols. Anything that you prioritize over the Lord(via time, mind, etc.) is an idol. If you spend an excessive amount of time, mind and your life on screen time, it might be an idol. That is why it is necessary to keep in check your priorities, for if you value that thing over the Lord, then you must make a change.

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” And that is the Lord Jesus Christ. John 3:16-17. 16 For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son so who so ever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus Christ from the grave you will be saved.” God bless everybody that is reading this prayers for you all and your family in Jesus Christ name amen 🙏😊

This is not the story of a prostitute or the patriarchy. This is the story of how God saved a woman and her family just as He saved Lot and his family out of a wicked city. Our hearts are all unclean things. Man looks on the outside, but God…He looks on the hearts, and He found Rahab, a believing woman and rescued her.

I go to a chruch of about 65 to 70 people. There is no single ministry there nore is the church addressing my singleness. Get over ourselves people need God . Let him use you. i live in a major metro plexe so i could go to a bigger church that has more singles, but i dont want to. i play on the worsp team, and im heading up volunteers' security misitry. I dont sit on my ________ and do nothing and leave a church because it has nothing for me. I could have gone to a bigger church, but i did not want to be guitar player 10 and bass player 7 on top of that wait 6 months. Now i get single parents are streached . But if you have no kids, dont sit on your butt in church

I wish people would stop seeing missionaries as business professionals trying to get paid. We're going into the world to teach the gospel and when we present our ministry to churches or individuals it's our hope that they will pray and see how God will lead them so go with us. There's millions of ways to support missionaries and financially is only one way. The best way to support them is thru prayer. Saying"no, we can't support you financially," before they tell you what their doing and where is limiting how God can use you.
